Groovetech EP 2 – CTRL ROOM – July 12 2016

Hello boys and girls. It was a great pleasure to be back on the decks at CTRL ROOM for episode 2 of the Groovetech monthly Out of Control Session, played live out of Toronto Ontario on the second Tuesday of the month.

As you have come to be accustomed from my regular weekly mixes, this 3 plus hour DJ set genuinely plays across genres and time. Perhaps a tad heavier on newer Techno releases, there were plenty of 2016 vinyl releases in the mix including a couple by Developer who is Toronto at the weekend, but I always look to strike a balance between House and Techno, new and old music.

Starting off with Deep House from the likes of Borrowed Identity, Reformed Society and Skyland Mountain, progressing in to some new releases by Randomer, Shinedoe, Shlomo and Mark Broom (among others), before firing off with genuine and proper Techno for the majority of the set. I did save the best for last as I showed off my Funky House and Disco side with some cuts by Lighter Thief, Rick Wade, Floorplan and Ron Baccardi.

Be a Guest on the Show

If you play underground music, I want to hear from you. Send me a message including a link to your mixcloud or soundcloud and thoughts about your music convictions and if things work out I would be privileged to have you on the show in the future. Consider this: it’s all about the heart and soul so what I want to hear is to a mix that you really feel and like, not just something to get more fans or gigs. It’s not about you – its about the music.

About Andreas

rouchos-dj-toronto-techno-house_Intro_HeaderAndreas Marouchos (Short, Rouchos), is a DJ from Toronto. Playing Techno and House, Andreas has been a professional DJ since 1998, playing sets in four countries. He is also a podcasting pioneer, with live audio and video mixes stretching as far back as the last millennium. Despite the progress of technology, Andreas still collects and spins 100% of music on Vinyl as he believes that “putting a laptop between a DJ and the crowd seems boring”.
