Playing at CTRLROOM is a huge pleasure for me. It is refreshing to find a format that challenges the elitist gate-keepers who are keeping out talent in an effort to maintain the status quo. Being unique and expressing yourself is not enough to move forward. CTRLROOM has opened doors for me and others, as well as allowing a growing audience to explore music outside of Toronto’s rather narrow norms. After all, the best audience for the passionate DJ has always been a small, tightly knit group of supportive cohorts.
Before going further, I do have to tout myself so please pardon the self-promotion. More than 2400 people tuned in live. Thank you. Your growing support is truly the best reward everyone involved can hope for. With more viewers tuning in, we have small favour to ask.
With over 600 (and growing) recordings to date, our content is viewed by thousands worldwide and we are ecstatic for your support. That said, we have created a Patreon page to ask you for a small favour in return for the service we are providing in circulating our members content. How does Patreon work? When you become our patron, you pledge an amount you are happy to support with monthly. In exchange, our patrons are rewarded with giveaways and exclusive content.
Any donations collected will go towards covering our costs – rent, internet, web hosting and rewarding our community of DJs – and our fans. Our objective is to continue keeping our content ad-free and available to everyone, so we will never put up a paywall between our awesome DJ mixes and you!
If you got a few minutes I encourage you to follow CTRLROOM on their main channels. I have posted links to them below. Just liking and sharing this content helps us increase our reach so make sure to tell your friends on Social Media about us!
Enjoy the mix!
Be a Guest on the Show
If you play underground music, I want to hear from you. Send me a message including a link to your mixcloud or soundcloud and thoughts about your music convictions and if things work out I would be privileged to have you on the show in the future. Consider this: it’s all about the heart and soul so what I want to hear is a mix that you really feel and like, not just something to get more fans or gigs. It’s not about you – its about the music.
Andreas Marouchos (Short, Rouchos), is a DJ from Toronto. Playing Techno and House, Andreas has been a professional DJ since 1998, playing sets in four countries. He is also a podcasting pioneer, with live audio and video mixes stretching as far back as the last millennium. Despite the progress of technology, Andreas still collects and spins 100% of music on Vinyl as he believes that “putting a laptop between a DJ and the crowd seems boring”.
