A long time ago
I discovered Techno Music. I was a barely a teenager and went to an event with a cousin and his friends. The beauty in Techno is that it forces you to actively listen to it. You have to listen to the subtle fluctuations in the groove of the track. Techno doesn’t give itself away like EDM or Dubstep do. Techno demands your attention. I convinced my parents to trade in the family piano for turntables and began building a record collection. I mostly play Techno but do occasionally play House Music. I have been playing gigs and recording podcasts since 1998.
My influences include Adam Beyer, Pacou, Ben Sims, Paul Mac, Jeff Mills, Mad Mike Banks, Dave Clarke, Carl Cox, DJ Sneak and of course Steve Mason … the first DJ I ever saw.
As a Style Whose Digital Nature was encoded into its very Name, Techno is the Music of early adopters. Andreas Marouchos – Techno DJ From Toronto
